Pearl River Sound

Italian producer Pearl River Sound lands on the fairly new Spanish label Adepta Editions for their first ever 12” vinyl release entitled The Amen Experience. The music contained comes as advertised, as Pearl River Sound most certainly pays tribute to the Amen break in his adventure through some vintage drum and bass moves. It’s not classicism though, PRS adds modernist touches throughout: a high pitched vocal chop here, some alien textured synths there to ground tracks like ‘The Horny’ and ‘Ragga Bass’ in the gonzo sounds of contemporary hardcore. It’s truly the best of both worlds.
